about the artist

Mari Barchi is an independent artist, singer-songwriter, and freelance creative based in New York City. Inspired by artists and songwriters like Adela, Chappell Roan, and Olivia Rodrigo, as well as singers like Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, and Renee Rapp, Mari creates poetic, honest-to-a-fault lyrics with strong, agile and evocative vocals over fun and awesome pop beats. In addition to singing, Mari accompanies herself on guitar and piano.

From Maryland, Mari grew up singing and playing the flute. She joined her high school’s award-winning marching band when she was 14. Through high school, she performed in professional and regional theatre productions in Maryland and New York. In 2024, she graduated summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Songwriting. Recently, she worked for Park Avenue Artists (NYC), Freak N See Music (LA), and Pro Indie Music (Cuernavaca, MX).

Currently, Mari works as a barista part-time while working on her creative projects in her free time. She also creates and designs her own personal websites. She enjoys recreational creative writing, reading any book she can get her hands on, and learning how to play her favorite songs on guitar or piano.

She lives with her girlfriend/boyfriend/partner in life and two cats, Chocolate Chip and Oreo, in NYC.
